DETOURS
A Walking Theatrical Event at the Willamette University Campus
Misadventure is afoot when a pair of tour guides from Willamette Historical Society lead a walk through the oldest university campus in the West, and everything that could go wrong does. Unexpected vignettes unfold beside historic halls, lush lawns, the ever-charming Mill Stream, and other unusual locations during this dynamic roughly 90-minute journey—with twists and turns all along the way.
Bring your walking shoes, your sunscreen, and a folding chair or blanket—this mile-long, immersive misadventure is anything but predictable.
The fun starts at the Theatre 33 lobby inside the Pelton Theatre Building on the Willamette University Campus, 900 State Street, just south of the Oregon State Capitol and west of 12th Street. Recognize the building by its large “Theatre” banner on the side, and one on the front, and Chinese Fu Dogs outside the entrance. Check here for more detailed directions.
Join us for this walking theatrical event that opens Theatre 33’s Summer Festival of New Work. We can’t wait to see you there!
